Abstract

Horticulture is one of the agricultural sub-sectors with excellent potential to develop in Indonesia. Horticulture includes vegetables, fruits, medicinal plants, and ornamental plants. Along with the development of agricultural technology, horticultural crops can be cultivated with a hydroponic system. The hydroponic system or soilless culture is a way of cultivating plants using a solution medium. Hydroponic systems are proliferating for cultivating horticultural vegetables due to the increasing demand for quality vegetables. Vegetables cultivated using the hydroponic system are fresher and cleaner, so they have better quality than conventional vegetables. The reason is that plant roots are not in direct contact with the soil. One of the agribusiness companies that cultivate vegetables with a hydroponic system is Wangunsari Farm Hydroponics (WFH). WFH is in Lembang District, West Bandung Regency, West Java Province. WFH plans to cultivate Redoakleaf Lettuce vegetables and establish a Kale Crunch business to increase income. This study aims to analyze the financial aspects of cultivating RedOakleaf Lettuce and establishing a Kale Crunch business, and determining which business is a priority to be carried out first. The analytical method used is descriptive graphics, quantitative tabulation, and counting Net Present Value (NPV), Gross B/C, Net B/C, Internal Rate of Return (IRR), and Payback Period. Based on the financial feasibility calculations, it is concluded that both businesses are feasible for increasing WFH income. However, the Kale Crunch business has become a priority before cultivating the Red Oakleaf Lettuce vegetable because it has a value NPV IDR 27,149,410, Net B/C 4.1, Gross B/C>1 1.1, IRR>DR is 95% where DR is 3.5% and the payback period is two years where the business life is five years. Horticultural agribusiness supports the eighth Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Abstract

Increasing the productivity of rice plants requires the role of fertilizer, one of which is lowland rice farmers who believe that fertilizer is the most important key factor for increasing rice production. The government's role is to provide subsidized fertilizers for the agricultural sector. Farmer groups were formed to solve problems faced by farmers that cannot be solved individually. The role of farmer groups in distributing subsidized fertilizers is to facilitate the distribution of subsidized fertilizers into the hands of farmers. Subsidized fertilizers are only intended for farmers who join farmer groups, this is in accordance with the Regulation of the Minister of Agriculture Number 47 of 2017 concerning the designation and highest retail price (HET) of subsidized fertilizers. This study aims to analyze the role of farmer groups in distributing subsidized fertilizers. The research method uses the Descriptive Analysis method, which is to explain and describe the phenomena that occur in the research area and to analyze the role of farmer groups in distributing subsidized fertilizer. The results of this study are that the role of farmer groups in distributing subsidized fertilizers is included in the high category with a total score of 2.9 in the role category. Farmer groups play an important role in improving farmer performance with changes in farmers towards a better way of managing lowland rice farming as indicated by the existence of learning classes that increase farmer knowledge, a vehicle for cooperation that builds cooperation in the distribution of subsidized fertilizers and production units helping farmers with get subsidized fertilizer.

Abstract

The aims of this research is to increase the nutritional value of purple sweet potato flour by fermentation method using Rhizopus oryzae mold. The research method used a factorial Randomized Group Design with factors of fermentation time (48 hours, 72 hours and 96 hours) and the amount of Rhizopus oryzae mold (20gram, 30gram and 40gram). The number of treatments was 9 treatments, namely T1N1 (48 hours: 20 grams of yeast), T1N2 (48 hours: 30 grams of yeast), T1N3 (48 hours: 40 grams of yeast), T2N1 (72 hours: 20 grams yeast), T2N2 (72 hours: 30 grams yeast), T2N3 (72 hours with 40 grams yeast), T3N1 (96 hours: 20 grams yeast), T3N2 (96 hours: 30 grams yeast) and T3N3 (96 hours: 40 grams yeast). Parameters observed were carbohydrate, protein, fat and fiber content. Data were tested with ANOVA and BNJ further test at the 5% level. The results showed that fermentation time and the amount of yeast given had an influence in each treatment. The best carbohydrate content was found in the T1N2 treatment 86.73%, the best protein content was found in the T3N3 treatment 18.835%, the best fat content was found in the T1N1 treatment 0.25% and the best fiber content was found in the T1N1 treatment 24.71%. Fermentation time and the amount of yeast had a significant effect on protein and fiber content but no significant effect on carbohydrate and fat content. The best treatment of 9 treatments for carbohydrate, protein, fat and fiber content was found in the T1N1 treatment with a treatment value of 0.727. The best fermentation treatment on fermented purple sweet potato flour can be used as an ingredient for making toddler snacks as a prevention of stunting and adjusted to the MP-ASI biscuit standard SNI 01-7111.2-2005.

Abstract

Permintaan masyarakat Indonesia terhadap buah lokal semakin meningkat seiring meningkatnya kesadaran masyarakat akan pentingnya nutrisi buah bagi Kesehatan. Pisang kepok (Musa paradisiaca L.) adalah salah satu jenis pisang yang populer dan digemari masyarakat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perilaku pembelian dan sikap konsumen buah pisang kepok di Kota Medan. Penelitian dilakukan dengan metode survei pada salah satu pasar tradisional terbesar di Kota Medan. Jumlah sampel konsumen sebanyak 42 konsumen yang ditentukan melalui purposive sampling. Metode analisis data yang digunakan yakni analisis deskriptif dan multiatribut Fishbein. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perilaku pembelian konsumen buah pisang kepok di Kota Medan berupa alasan pembelian untuk manfaat kesehatan, alasan berbelanja di pasar tradisional karena harga relatif murah, frekuensi pembelian setiap bulan tidak menentu, pembelian sebanyak 1 sisir disetiap pembeliannya, tujuan pembelian untuk dikonsumsi sendiri, rata-rata pengeluaran konsumen untuk membeli buah pisang kepok Rp.70.001–Rp 90.000 dalam sebulan. Hasil multiatribut Fishbein, sikap konsumen yakni konsumen sangat menyukai atribut harga buah pisang kepok dengan nilai sebesar 12,39 (sangat positif).

Abstract

Corn is an agricultural commodity that is not only used as food but also used as animal feed in industry in Indonesia. The research focuses on identifying the pivotal determinants affecting the production of corn farms. This study involved the selection of a representative sample of 35 maize farmers from Pulo Bayu Village, Hutabayu Raja District, Simalungun Regency. The data was obtained from a combination of primary and secondary sources. The study employed a quantitative methodology to investigate the impact of many factors, including area, seed, fertilizer, pesticide usage, and labour input, on maize output within the specified region. The study's findings indicate that several factors, including land area, seed pesticides, and labour, have a significant influence of 91.1% on the production output of maize farmers in Pulo Bayu Village, Hutabayu Raja District, Simalungun Regency. This study provides substantial contributions to understanding the dynamics of maize farming in the region, thereby enabling farmers and policymakers to make well-informed decisions.

Abstract

This study was conducted with the aim to obtain a combination of NPK M and soil doses of manure that is appropriate to the growth and yield of tomato soil. Then to find out the right dose of NPK M on the growth and yield of tomato soil. And the next result is to find out the combination of soil: the right manure to the growth and yield of tomato soil. This research was conducted on February 1, 2023 to June 1, 2023 at Pak Utan Village, Toho District, Mempawah Regency, Batar Kalimantan. this research method is a factorial design used in a Completely Randomized Design consisting of two factors and further analysis compared with the analysis of variance (analysis of variance) at 5% each. To determine the difference between the measurements carried out DMRT Test (Duncan multiple Range Test) at a real rate of 5 %. 7 grams of NPK M gives the best results on parameters in tomato plants, namely fresh root weight, dry root weight, and number of fruits. This is because the measured nutritional needs of plants so that the growth process of vegetative and generative plants can be seen clearly and can provide an increase in yields that are quite optimal. The parameters given can be utilized by farmers, namely the dosage of each fertilizer applied in accordance with the development of soil development.

Abstract

Mayo Swamp is located in Jaya Makmur Village Kurik 4 Kurik District, Regency of Merauke, South Papua Province. It has the potential of aquatic plant which is never exposed and never been studied before. This study aims to identify the species, community structure, and important valur index. The method used in this research is purposive sampling methods, through this method the quadrant 5 x 5m placed in 3 research station, and the total of quadrant was 25 quadrants. Sampling and Analysis held for three months start in August until October 2021. The results show that 4 spesies of aquatic plants successfully identified there are Nephrolepis sp., Stenochlaena palustris (Lemidi), Typha angustifolia (Lidi Air), Nelumbo nucifera (Lotus). Community structure of aquatic plants in mayo Swamps consist of diversity index (H’) the highest is 1,31 and lowest is 0,11 and categorized in low diversity. Eveness index (E) in stasiun I is the highest (0,18), meanwhile in station II and III is 0,3 and cetagorized as low. Furthermore, for Dominance Index (D) the highest goes to station II with 0,75 wand the lowest in station III with 0,29 and it can be concluded that the dominance indez of aquatic plaants in Mayo Swamp Waters in low. Along with that Important Value Index (IVI) was in the same category and species with the higher number of IVI is Stenochlaena palustris (Lemidi) with 95,483.
